A "mirror bump" is a feature allowing a user to configure side wraps such that their extend function may be temporarily disabled. This has the effect of relieving pressure from the equipment, allowing the equipment to safely "bump" around a driver or passenger side mirror.
The Cruz Control Car Wash Controller allows for up to four different "zone" configurations. Each of these zones supports both driver and passenger side settings.
The Zone in question (1, 2, 3 or 4) relates to any output defined by
- Asset Code = "101 - Wrap"
- Asset Iteration = the zone in question
- Asset System Level = "3 - Wrap DS Air" for the driver's side, or "4 - Wrap PS Air" for the passenger's side.
Consider the following example.
Here we have Output #6 configured as (1) a wrap, (2) iteration one and (3) system level 3 - Wrap DS Air". Now we know, if we want to configure this output's mirror bump, we need interact with the settings outlined by
- Mirror Bump Zone 1 (because Asset Iteration = 1), and
- Driver's Side 1 (because Asset System Level = 3 - Wrap DS Air
With this understanding, let's consider the available settings for each. Let X represent the asset iteration in question.
- Driver Side X Adjust. This allows the user to shift this mirror bump's central point (in inches) up and toward the wash entrance (negative value) or down and further away from the wash entrance (positive value), relative to the Output in question's Distance to Gate configuration.
- Driver Side X Start. How far (in inches) should the mirror bump turn on ahead (toward the wash entrance) of its central point?
- Driver Side X End. How far (in inches) should the mirror bump turn off after (toward the wash exit) of its central point?
To better understand, lets continue our example from above. Here we see this output's Distance to Gate is 146 inches
Let's also note that our Driver Side 1 Adjust is set to (negative) 80 inches (see screenshot above)
Therefore, we should expect this bump's central point to be
- 146 inches (Distance To Gate) plus a negative 80 inches (Driver Side 1 Adjust) = 66 inches
Now let's apply our Driver Side 1 Start to figure out when this mirror bump will start; 24 inches.
- 66 inches minus 24 inches = we should expect this mirror bump to start at 42 inches
Similarly, let's apply our Driver Side 1 End to figure out when it will end; 24 inches.
- 66 inches plus 24 inches = we should expect this mirror bump to end at 90 inches
Note too that we can rephrase how long this mirror bump applies as 24 (Driver Side 1 Start) plus 24 (Driver Side 1 End), or 48". This mirror bump will apply for four feet!
