Asset Codes, Asset Iterations and Asset System Levels Explained

Summary

Many Outputs support three pieces of configurable information that all work together to inform the Cruz Car Wash Controller how to perform its task;  Asset Codes, Asset Iterations and Asset System Levels.  This structure also enables detailed reporting, preventative maintenance and several other features offered by Cruz Control Site Track.  This article will describe each and how they work together.

Asset Code

An Asset Code is what tells the Cruz Car Wash Controller what type of equipment it is to interact with.

Asset Iteration

This allows the user to tell the system which copy of the equipment is to act upon.  This becomes handy when you have two or more of the same equipment types within your wash, but need to locate and control each separately from the other.

Asset Iteration is a user configurable number.  It is best practice to assign a 1 for the first copy of the equipment in the tunnel, as viewed by vehicle travel direction.  A 2 would represent the second copy, and so on.

Asset System Level

An Asset System Level tells the Cruz Control Car Wash Controller what to do with the Asset Code and it's Asset Iteration already specified.  The options available here will update and are based on the already selected Asset Code.

How They All Work Together

Let's consider an example; a top brush.  The top brush in our example needs to do three things; (1) it needs to spin, (2) it needs to lower to meet the vehicle, and (3) it needs to foam.  Lets also assume this is the only top brush in your wash.   

To accomplish this goal, you'd configure three different Outputs.

Select your first output, the one that will spin your top brush, and configure it as follows

Here we've configured our target output as type Top Brush (Asset Code = "102 - Top Brush", we've told the system its the first top brush in the wash (Asset Iteration = 1) and we've told the system this top brush output is to activate the spin function (Asset System Level = 1 - Top Brush Spin).

Now select your second output, the one that will lower the brush, and configure it as follows

For this second output, we've told it it also type Top Brush (Asset Code = "102 - Top Brush", we've again told the system its the first top brush in the wash (Asset Iteration = 1), however this time we've told the system to this is the counterbalance, or lower function (Asset System Level = 7 - Top Brush Counterbalance).

Finally select the third output, the one that will foam the brush and configure it as follows

Just like for the previous two outputs, we configure this one for type Top Brush (Asset Code = "102 - Top Brush", we've told the system its the first top brush in the wash (Asset Iteration = 1), and here we commanding the system to understand this output to be what turns on the brush's water and foaming system.

When configured as such, the system will drive these three outputs to spin, drop and foam the first brush within the wash appropriately.  In addition, now that the system knows about this equipment and how you'd like to control it, the system is capable of detecting issues or faults and automatically disable functions while in operation; if the brush isn't spinning, then the system will not drop the brush nor will the system turn on the foaming action.  

What's more, and in different examples, when properly configured, the system is capable of preventing wraps from extending when they're not spinning, Omni interlocking, mirror bumping and much more!
